There has been some vandalism at the library in Gamlegården. And for a long while, it has been problematic in the afternoons. Many children have been going to the library after school. They have been unable to behave.

”My heart aches. It’s so sad to close, but necessary”
Lena Ohlsson (M), Chair of the Culture and Leisure Committee.

– We have brought in more staff and closed the library one afternoon a week. And now there has been drug dealing in broad daylight inside the library. So we have decided to close in the afternoons for the rest of the year, says Ulrika Cedell, Culture and Leisure Manager.

It has to be a secure work environment for the staff. The decision to close was announced to the politicians in the Culture and Leisure Committee's meeting on Thursday.

– My heart aches. It’s so sad to close, but necessary, says Lena Ohlsson (M), Chair of the Culture and Leisure Committee.

The committee's Vice-Chair, Therese Sturesson (S) says:

– We do what we can for our staff.
