Legal Centre risks being halted
– There is already a risk of flooding in today's climate, says Hanne Romanus, Head of Community Planning at Länsstyrelsen Skåne.
Plans for a legal centre in Kristianstad have come a long way. There are sketches of what it will look like and the new zoning plan for the area has been out for so-called consultation twice. But now there is a risk that Länsstyrelsen will put a stop to everything.
”It’s very problematic that it’s located within the embankments”Hanne Romanus, Head of Community Planning at Länsstyrelsen Skåne
Länsstyrelsen has had a few comments, for example, the risk of flooding.
– It’s very problematic that it’s located within the embankments, says Hanne Romanus.
The embankments around Kristianstad are being expanded and strengthened. Is that not enough?
– We can only take into consideration what has already been done or if a decision has been finalised about future plans, but there has not, says Hanne Romanus.
”Where should we build?”Pierre Månsson (L), Municipal Councillor
Municipal Councillor Pierre Månsson (L) wants a continued discussion about the area.
– Länsstyrelsen’s argument means that they’ve place a dead hand over Kristianstad. They criticise us for building on agricultural land, areas where there are high nature values, along the coast and in central Kristianstad. Where should we build?
