Kristianstad resident arrested following raid in Sundsvall

The intense wave of violence in Stockholm is said be linked to a man called the "Kurdish fox", and to a raid that was carried out in Sundsvall last week.
Weapons, bombs and drugs were found during the raid. Seven people were arrested – including an 18-year-old from Kristianstad and two teenage boys from Sölvesborg.
They are suspected of involvement in planning murders.

Last Thursday, police raided several addresses in Sundsvall. As a result of the raid and arrests made, the prosecutor believed that a murder was prevented.

– The police in Sundsvall and I are relieved and very pleased; through this successful operation we have been able to prevent several serious violent crimes from taking place. A murder and a number of explosions, amongst other things, says Karin Everitt Deputy Chief Prosecutor at the Prosecutor's Office in Sundsvall, in a press release.

Large quantities of drugs were found in connection with the raids. It’s a battle over the drug market in Sundsvall, where one of the combatants is suspected of being the so-called "Kurdish fox", who – despite the fact that he is supposed to be in Turkey - is behind the unrest in Norrlandsstaden as well as in Stockholm.

The capital has been exposed to a massive wave of violence throughout January.

In addition to narcotics, the police also seized weapons and unexploded thermos bombs during the raid in Sundsvall.

The seven people, who have now been detained or are facing detention hearings, are suspected of conspiracy to commit murder, aggravated weapon offences and aggravated drug offences, among other things.

One of the suspects is an 18-year-old man from Kristianstad. He was found at an address in Sundsvall on Thursday when the police hit. Two boys from Sölvesborg are also among those suspected of being involved in planning murders.

The 18-year-old Kristianstad resident is suspected of conspiracy to commit murder between January 25 and 26 this year, as well as aggravated weapons offences in the period between January 9 and January 24.

The 18-year-old was previously convicted of robbing two Gucci caps off a boy from Eslöv. What was supposed to be an exchange – one cap for another – turned into a robbery. The robbery was carried out last year near Näsby health centre. According to the victim, he was threatened with a gun.

The police later found the caps in an apartment. A gas pistol was found in the same residence.
