I saw some men hugging each other, and asked one of them,
– Aren’t you afraid of corona?
– There isn’t any here, was the answer I got.
At the time of writing, new figures have been issued - the number of deaths is still going down, but more and more young people are falling ill.
In addition the age of the victims is getting lower. Kristianstad has had 22 new cases in a week. This brings the total number of persons infected by covid-19 in Kristianstad to 202. Most have not needed hospital treatment. But the figures show that the infection is present in the community.
Most of us are good at keeping our distance, washing our hands and staying at home if we don’t feel well. We must keep on doing that.

Upper secondary schools still have home studies on alternate weeks. Kb Mosaik has met some pupils who have had extra support in maths and physics during the holidays. A retired teacher, Ingvar Kroon, who lives at Gamlegården, has had lessons with them. ”Very good”, says Salman Mohamed, who has started on the care and welfare programme . Read more on page 6.
As a former swimming-teacher I was pleased to hear gym teacher Daniel Nilsson’s suggestion to keep Gamlegårdsbadet open for the school. Previously many pupils from Fröknegårdskolan have not had the chance to learn to swim 200 metres. And so they have not been able to get a pass-mark in the subject ”sport and health”. Now all 450 pupils at Fröknegårdskolan can test their abilities. Read more on page 16.
In the last issue we wrote about Göinge ung in Östra Göinge which helps young people without a job or a place in school. Daniel Bertilsson is one who has been given advice and support. He will soon be a qualified welder. Read more on page 15.

Not many girls choose technical jobs. So it is a good move to give young girls in Hässleholm the chance to try out different jobs, including welding, in the summer. Read more on page 19.
