Inga-Lill Bengtsson: Inga-Lill Bengtsson: ”A friendly glance or gesture means a lot”
A friendly glance or gesture means a lot. Tanya Tyshchuk and her husband Nick carry on determinedly with their work in Kiev. Nick cycles round the town when there is no curfew, from shop to shop to find bread and water to give to families and children in need.
Every day explosions and gunfire can be heard in the outskirts of the town. Those families who were able, have already fled. The ones whose daily life is most difficult are left. And there are also some who choose to remain to fight or give support in some other form.
Many refugees have already arrived in Sweden. In this issue you can read about Olga Naumenko, Tanya Gudz and their children who managed to get on to a train to Sweden and Åhus. See page 10.

There are other refugees already living in Sweden, 300 of them at Brobysjukhuset. Now they are being evicted at one month's notice. Read more on page 14.
Abdirahman ”Abdi” Ali came here himself as a refugee. Abdi helped to interpret when we met some Somalians at Brobysjukhuset.
Abdi has managed to get established in Sweden, among other things he is learning to be a football trainer. Now, in addition, he has been awarded Östra Göinge municipality's prize ”Sports prize of the Year”.
– Of course I'm glad for an honour like that, says Abdi.
”April marks the sixth anniversary of Kb Mosaik”Inga-Lill Bengtsson
Abdi has been a driving force in arranging night football in Broby. Every Sunday 30-40 young people play in the sports hall.
– There are a lot of new people in the municipality who come along and play. And here in the sports hall we speak Swedish, that's the rule, says Abdi.
Language training must begin early. After School at Gamlegården has creative activities for children in classes 3-6. Kb Mosaik paid a visit and met nine children and leaders who interviewed each other about their dreams. Read more on page 16.
A feeling of belonging is important for you and me. Stadsutveckling Näsby (Town development Näsby) will be at Gamlegården library and Kb Mosaik to talk to people in Gamlegården shopping centre. What ideas do they have for improvements? Read more on page 9.
April marks the sixth anniversary of Kb Mosaik. We thank our readers for their trust in letting us go on writing about news and people who can create more understanding between new and old residents.
One way of doing this is by writing about food, and in this issue we write about Easter and what people eat then, page 21. 2nd April saw the beginning of another important period, ramadan, a month of fasting for Muslims. Most adult Muslims who work or study have fasted for many years. It hasn't done them any harm so far, fasting this year as well is nothing new.
But studies and work must be carried out, of course. We wish them a blessed ramadan. And congratulate Öllsjö school who have reached the final in Vi i Femman!
