Infection in group home: "Unfortunately, we don’t have the situation under control"

A total of 28 people, residents and staff have been infected with corona in Hässleholm municipality. There is a great risk that the number will increase.

Nine residents and nine members of staff have been infected with corona in a residence that provides special services. A total of ten people in an LSS-home (group home) have been infected, of which four are staff.

Most of the culture and leisure activities have been shut down or cancelled. This applies to leisure centres, activities at Hovdala, events at the Kulturhuset, several gyms, libraries and swimming pools.

She doesn’t know how the infection got into the homes.

– It’s very difficult to say. There are lots of people who carry the infection but don’t have any symptoms.

A temporary visiting ban has been introduced in all of the residences that provide special services.

Most of the culture and leisure activities have been shut down or cancelled. This applies to leisure centres, activities at Hovdala, events at the Kulturhuset, several gyms, libraries and swimming pools.

Activities for young people born in 2005 or later may continue.

– It’s a serious situation and it’s important to halt the spread of infection, says the Chairman of the Municipal Executive Committee Lars Johnsson (M).
