Here comes the sun – at least 26 degrees for several days
From Wednesday until the end of the week temperatures may rise above 26 degrees in Skåne, apart from Österlen, SMHI reports. This means a maximum temperature over a 24-hour period of 26 to 30 degrees for at least three days.
The heat puts extra stress on the body, which can cause problems for those in a risk-group.

If the temperature reaches at least 30 degrees for three successive days, SMHI’s notice will be upgraded to a warning.
The heatwave means that geriatric care will be even more seriously affected because of the corona pandemic. SVT Nyheter reports that a number of municipalities have no emergency plans if the weather becomes as hot as in the summer of 2018.
Because of the risk of infection, Folkhälsoinstitutet (the National Institute of Public Health) advises that table-top fans should not be used, as there is a risk that they can spread the virus over a greater distance. But fans are still allowed in people’s own rooms, the authorities say.
Kristianstad municipality is well prepared , says Ulrika Johannesson Olsson, who is responsible care homes in the municipality.
