Heartwarming opening of Hjärtebacke nursery school

On Friday Hjärtebacke preschool was officially opened. It is the third new preschool to be opened in Näsby – in two years. The preschool is where Gamlegårdskolan used to be, but the buildings are completely new. And the big playground is completely new as well.

The first children stepped in through the doors at Hjärtebacke on Monday. Most of the children here were at Näsbyvillan before.

A lot of schools and preschools were built in Näsby in the '60s and '70s. Now they are old and showing signs of wear and tear. Gamlegårdskolan was pulled down to make room for Hjärtebacke nursery school. The old playground has had a complete makeover. The whole building is new.

Hjärtebacke is the third new nursery school to be opened in Näsby in recent years. Berga nursery school opened in 2019, and Tvedegård nursery school in 2020 .

– You children here in Näsby and in Kristianstad are the most important thing we have. You must have the best preschools and schools, said Daniél Tejera (L), chairman of the committee for children and education.

He and the vice-chairman Ulrika Tollgren (S) were guests at the opening on Friday forenoon.

It has not been at all difficult to find staff for the nursery school.

– We're glad to be able to have such a high proportion of qualified staff in our nursery schools. The new schools are also built to a high standard as regards the working environment, so that the staff we have will want to stay, he says.
