Happy birthday, Dagny, 109 (!) years old – ”I hope to be able to visit my relatives in Kristianstad in due course”
Dagny is in quite good health, just a bit tired. She has got herself a mobile phone, but at the same time her hearing has begun to get worse. So she prefers to answer Kristianstadsblad's questions by e-mail.
How are you going to celebrate your birthday?
– I'll celebrate, but I don't know how at the moment. Friends and relatives usually come to see me, and that's nice. I'm hoping for good weather and lots of flowers.
When will you be coming to Kristianstad next time?
– I hope to be able to visit my relatives in Kristianstad in due course, when the corona situation permits.
You write in your blog that you're bored now during the pandemic. What do you do to cheer yourself up?
–The worst thing about the pandemic is not being able to meet people. Being on your own is depressing, it puts you in a bad mood. To break the monotony a little I like to meet friends and relatives, and today (one day at the end of April), I was in Haga park and on Djurgården with a friend who has a car. I had my first ice-cream of the season, it was delicious.
You've had your two vaccinations. What does that mean for you?
– The vaccine means a degree of security, but we still must continue to be careful .It's a relief not having to wear a face-mask.

Family: has been twice married.
Lives: in Solna (in the same flat for more than 60 years).
Previous work: As a young girl she started work sewing in a factory in Kristianstad, then later in Örebro.Studied at a textile college in Norrköping, after which she was supervisor at Germa corset factory in Sundbyberg. She was also a clerk at the Social Insurance Agency for 15 years.
Blogger: When Dagny was 99 she enrolled in a computer course and started to blogg. In her blogg she writes about everything under the sun, about the secret of staying healthy and avoiding ailments in later years.
