Free swimming lessons for more children
Sparbanken Skåne and the S71 swimming club are continuing to co-operate. So in the autumn there will be new groups for Baddaren at Qpoolen, at no cost for the children.
– To be able to swim is an invaluable asset. It mustn't be a question of not being able to afford it. We believe that a new Baddaren course in the autumn can make a difference for a lot of people, not least for those who could not get a place in the spring, says bank manager Gunilla Bengtsson.
In the spring 160 children took part in the lessons to learn to swim and to get accustomed to being in the water. The idea was to get more children to get used to being in the water and teach them to swim.
In the autumn of 2021 160 children will be able to take part, split into two groups. This is all made possible by co-operation between Sparbanken Skåne, the owners of the bank Sparbanksstiftelsen 1826 and S71.
– The groups this spring are completely full, so the project really has been a success. The sooner children get used to water, the better. It's great to be able to go on providing Baddaren free, says Tobias Thorgren, chairman of S71 in Hässleholm.
The period for enrolment for Baddaren will open on 11th July on S71's homepage.
Footnote: To qualify for Baddaren you must be able to dip your head under the water, breathe out/ blow out air under the water and float using a board or a float.
