Explosion at entrance of residential building

Police, ambulance and emergency services were called out to an apartment building in Vilan in Kristianstad on Monday night. At the scene, the entrance door was damaged from some sort of detonation.

The alarm about the detonation on Poppelvägen in Kristianstad came in just before 1 am on Monday. The emergency services and the police were called to the scene.

- There has been a small explosion at the entrance door of an apartment building. There are no injuries, just a little bit of material damage, says Magnus Lefèvre, Duty Officer with the police in Region Syd.

The bomb squad and forensic technicians were at the scene during the night. There was no damage to any of the apartments and no need for an evacuation.

At 6.30 am, the technicians' work at the scene was complete and the cordons were removed. A preliminary investigation has now been launched into destruction causing public endangerment.

The police will knock on doors in the area during the day and carry out interviews. There are currently no suspects.
