Drugs and aggravated weapons offences: Seven men charged after major investigation
The police investigation is very extensive.
An 18-year-old Kristianstad resident was carrying a loaded revolver with five rounds when he was arrested in a taxi in Växjö in early March. Växjö District Court convicted him of an aggravated weapons offence and sentenced him to a little over a year in prison.
Three men have now been charged for planning the transport of weapons between Kristianstad and Växjö together. Among other things, they have booked the 18-year-old's train and taxi journeys. The prosecutor claims to be able to prove this through intercepted telephone conversations, among other things.
But there are many more suspected crimes in the large police investigation. A total of seven men aged18 to 28 have been charged in Kristianstad District Court. All live or have lived in Kristianstad. They are previously known to the police.
The suspicions concern several cases of drug offences and aggravated weapons offences from October 2019 until June this year.
The police have made several different arrests and carried out house searches at addresses in Kristianstad in particular, but also in Växjö. The police have seized a sawed-off shotgun, a pistol and several cartridges.
Police have also found a total of about 200 grams of cannabis, over 2,000 drug-classified tablets and about 27 grams of cocaine. Several of the accused are suspected of selling drugs.
The police investigation is several thousand pages long. Among the evidence seized, the recorded telephone conversations, surveillance footage from the police, fingerprints, questioning witnesses and messages about various drug deals.
The accused men have admitted certain crimes, but deny most of the acts.
