Closed for 18 months: Families welcome back to open nursery school
Region Skåne was very clear, all voluntary activities were to be closed down when the pandemic began to spread.
Before the pandemic there were open nursery schools at Österäng, Vilan and Gamlegården.Today, Wednesday, the nursery school at Gamlegården is opening again.
”Our co-operation gives the families a sense of security.”Ing-Marie Nilsson, in charge of the open nursery school
– It's important for us to open, we're a family centre. We work in co-operation with the child welfare centre (bvc), prenatal care and the social advisory service, says Ing-Marie Nilsson, who is in charge of the open nursery school.
– We're opening both for our own sake and for the sake of the families. Our co-operation gives the families a sense of security. For example if someone comes to the child welfare centre and wonders something about the nursery school, we can help them with their problem, she says.
When the open nursery school is closed, there is no social advisory service either.
– Two of the four legs have been closed during the pandemic, but now everything is back in place, she says, and hopes that lots of parents and children find their way back.
– We're open between 9 am and noon, and again between 1 pm and 3:30 pm every day, Monday to Friday, she says.
The open nursery school at Österäng is not going to be reopened. The one at Vilan will reopen later in the autumn.
