Children's exhibition is a nice end to "After School"
It's the last day of After School. The children who have been doing Arts & Crafts are going to hang up their artwork such as paintings, collages and much more in an exhibition.
– It’s fantastic for the children to be able to see what they’ve done in reality when we hang everything up at the entrance of the library, says Sarah Granholm who is the Project Manager.
– Parents also get happy when they see their children's work.
After School
About 40 children in grades 4-7 from Fröknegårdsskolan and Lingenässkolan participated in the project. The aim was to stimulate the children’s creativity and create activities that they can do in their free time.
After School is part of the Culture and Leisure Committees project “Activate more” and is a collaboration between Kulturhuset Barbacka, Gamlegården's library and Näsby Fritidsgård (recreation centre).
The purpose of the project is to encourage the children's creativity, so they can create their own activities that they can do in their free time. Some of the children have been doing Arts & Crafts at the library, while other children have been doing Dance and Theatre at the leisure centre.
– The children have done a wonderful job. We have lots of artwork that the children have created from their own imagination. Making things has developed their creativity and thinking.
– It feels good that the project is ending with this lovely exhibition, says Sara Granholm.
The exhibition lasts one month.
