Challan festival back again after three years

There has been no Challan festival since April 2019. A pandemic interrupted plans. This spring the festival is making a comeback.

The Charlottesborg /Vilan network is responsible for the arrangement.

– This year we really feel that there will be a festival, a lot of people want to take part. We've even got a stage, says Carola Ivarsson, head of the Vilan youth centre and recreation club Slottet.

– There are a lot of people who are active in our network, many societies and firms want to be part of it, she says.

The first festival was held when there was a feeling of insecurity in the area. A lot has changed for the better in just a few years.

– We started the festival when there were a lot of unpleasant incidents in the area. We wanted to brighten things up, do something positive and have a day of fun with the family, says Carola Ivarsson.

– Today the atmosphere in the area is much better, but we still want to have a day that is positive and brighten things up with a family day thst has something for everyone.

Conjurer Noah Selg, from the TV-show Talang, will be appearing at the festival.

– The fire brigade, the police, the health centre and a number of others have promised to be there. Kardium Drumming and Wellness Nordic will hold training sessions. Can anyone take part?

– Certainly. Kardium Drumming drums on pilates balls so that they can be heard everywhere.

The Challan festival is completely free of charge. It will be held on Saturday 14th May from 11 am till 14:30 pm on the grassy area at Jakobs väg.
