Car chase ended in car accident – police car drove off the road

During a car chase, a car had flipped on a smaller road, west of Broby. The police who were chasing the car had to drive off the road – to avoid a collision.

The accident happened in the middle of the night on the weekend. The police chased a car that didn’t stop. Ambulance and emergency services were called out.

It was the middle of the night. The police signalled to the driver to stop. But he kept driving. So the police chased the car. It came to an end on a smaller road in Oröd, the car rolled and flipped over.

– When the police started to catch up, the driver went round the bend too fast. The car ended up on its roof, says Marielle Kamp with the police in Kristianstad.

The police were about to collide with the car but drove down into a ditch where there was a stone fence. None of the police officers were injured.

Everyone managed to get out of the cars on their own.

The two men, both in their 20s, were taken in for testing but later released.

They are suspected of drug offences, driving while under the influence of drugs, dangerous driving, driving without a license and traffic offences.
