Burning face mask in letterbox – Town Hall evacuated
An automatic fire alarm had been triggered at the Town Hall. At 6 pm on Tuesday, the emergency services were at the scene.

There was a bit of smoke coming from a letterbox when the emergency services arrived. The Town Hall had to be evacuated. Only a few people were in the building at the time.
– A face mask had been shoved into the letterbox, says Johan Wendt, External Officer with the emergency services in Kristianstad.
Police were also sent to the scene. The incident will be investigated to see if there is any suspicion of a crime.
Just before the alarm from the Town Hall, a container on J A Hedlunds Väg was on fire, behind Östra Kommunhuset. Initially, that fire was not suspected to have been deliberately set. But the emergency services will take another look at that fire.
– Obviously, if 112 gets two calls about fires at the Town Hall... We will go down there and check it out, says Johan Wendt on Tuesday evening.
Police have visited that scene as well. A report of vandalism has been filed. According to internal officers at Kristianstad police, this fire is also suspected to have been deliberately set. There are no suspects.
