Bill following Paludan's Quran burning in Kristianstad: 1.1 million
Rasmus Paludan i KristianstadRasmus Paludan received a permit to demonstrate by Ljunggren's in the centre of Kristianstad between 1 pm and 3.30 pm on Sunday 29 May.
Aside from taunts and insults from people on the other side of the barriers, it was a relatively calm demonstration. However, as a result of the right-wing politician’s arrival in Kristianstad, there was a heavy police presence and several roads were closed down.
According to calculations from the Police Authority’s Finance department, they have worked out the lump sum, that is, the approximate bill that the state and the taxpayers will have to foot.
The total cost of the operation, according to the police’s calculations, landed at 1,070,000 crowns. The police stress, however, that there is no fixed price, the operation could have cost much more.
The cost for the municipality is around 50,000 to 60,000 crowns. This includes costs incurred for extra surveillance, the Technical administration’s work to close roads down etc., for example.
