The target was already set in 2018: in 2021 the Citizens' Centre in Kristianstad will be best in Brilliant Future's survey. 40 municipalities took part.

– And we made it, although the pandemic was raging that year, said Anders Sandin, head of the Citizens' Centre.

”That's great. You feel you're appreciated by people for the service we offer”
Sajeda Al-Shoocha

Sajeda Al-Shoocha is one of 19 employees.

– That's great. You feel you're appreciated by people for the service we offer. We do this for the people living here, says Sajeda Al-Shoocha, 29, from Vä, who has worked at the Citizens' Centre for four years.

Her parents come from Iraq.

Sajeda Al-Shoocha has tried out several jobs at the Citizens' Centre as a stand-in, and now she has a permanent job as a system manager and municipal advisor.

– I was born in a refugee camp in Saudi Arabia, then we came to Sweden and Kristianstad when I was four.

How did you find a job here?

– I started with a summer job in reception, stepped in and took temporary jobs, and then I got a permanent job.

Among other things Sajeda Al-Shoocha has worked in reception at Östra Kommunhuset. There her knowledge of Arabic was of great help. ”We mostly manage in Swedish”, she says of the Citizens' Centre.

What do you do?

– I work half of my time as a system administrator. In the system we register all kinds of things, both enquiries and reports of things that are not functioning properly. I improve it and develop it. And I'm responsible for courses and training as well. The rest of my time I work as a municipal advisor.

”She's great in both her roles. I think it's a good idea to test different jobs as Sajeda has been able to do.”
