The prosecutor demanded 2.5 years in prison, the defence said 2. Now Kristianstad district court has delivered its verdict. The sentence is not in the least unexpected.

The 19-year-old has been found guilty of all the crimes he was accused of, and has been given a sentence of two years in prison.

The crimes he has been sentenced for are two cases of arson (the station building in Knislinge is not being regarded as serious), three cases of damage (five car fires) and three cases of assault, one against relatives and two against a former girl-friend.

The court has up to a point taken into account that the 19-year-old contacted the police himself to admit to the fires.

The 19-year-old has also been ordered to pay damages to a total of 98,000 crowns. He will remain in custody until the sentence gains legal force.
