Allöskolan gets go-ahead - but concern over way to school
The municipal council has given the all-clear to start building the new Allö school at Östra Kasern. A secondary school to accommodate a total of 590 pupils, including a special needs comprehensive unit. At present the cost is reckoned at 445 million crowns.
Discussions about building the school have been long-drawn-out. Also, the new local government (M, SD and KD) postponed the start for a year in their budget.
But now plans have been brought forward again. During the spring a building entrepreneur will be given the contract, and the school is expected to be ready to open in 2026.
So it was a relief for politicians on both sides when the decision was clubbed through on Tuesday and all parties were in agreement.
