5.8 million members entitled to vote in church council elections

5.8 million members of the Church of Sweden are entitled to vote on 19th September this year.

In 2000 the Church of Sweden and the Swedish state split up. Since then the Church of Sweden has had sole responsibility for the church council elections, which take place every four years.

In the church council elections voters choose who is to be responsible for decisions in the Church of Sweden for the coming four years.

All members registered in Sweden who are over the age of 16 are entitled to vote.
