250 have reported side-effects from vaccine
Region Skåne and the other regions in Sweden report information about the number of people vaccinated to the national vaccination register. Up to 15th June 4,021,394 people had had at least one dose.
”Of course there are very, very few deaths”Robert Ström, managing director
That is 51.3 per cent of all adults in Sweden. 27.5 per cent have had two doses.
The Swedish Pharmaceutical Insurance pays out compensation for serious side-effects in connection with covid-19 vaccination.
– Of course there are very, very few deaths, says managing director Robert Ström.
To be eligible for compensation you must have had symptoms for at least 30 days. And it must be probable that the harm has been caused by the vaccine.
The more serious cases have not yet been dealt with.
– None of the cases with complicated side-effects has been fully examined yet. We take in medical records to be able to assess cases along with medical experts,.
He says it is hard to draw any conclusions. The number of cases is too small.
”More than four million people have had been given a dose. 250 is not a high figure”Robert Ström, managing director
– Naturally it is difficult for people who have suffered side-effects, but more than four million people have had been given a dose. 250 is not a high figure.
Several different vaccines have been used in Sweden. The number of side-effects reported is more or less the same for tall types of vaccine.
Swedish Pharmaceutical Insurance
Created in 1978 in a voluntary agreement among pharmaceutical companies in Sweden.
A patient who has been harmed by medicine can apply to the Swedish Pharmaceutical Insurance without cost. There the harm can be evaluated and compensated. The alternative is to take the case to court. A court process normally takes a long time and requires extensive proof.
Pharmaceutical Insurance should not be confused with Patient Insurance, which gives compensation for injuries caused during treatment.
