Woman sentenced to prison for arson - Now the Court of Appeal has released her
The Court of Appeal has released a 28-year-old woman who was detained for over a year. The verdict will be handed on October 15th. She has been held in custody convicted of two counts of arson in Åhus.

The 28-year-old woman has repeatedly denied the crimes. She was detained in August 2018. The woman was charged with six counts of arson and three counts of criminal damage in Åhus and Härlöv in Kristianstad between the 23rd of July and the 8th of August 2018.
The trial in Kristianstad District Court lasted for 13 days. Over 60 witnesses gave their statements. The District Court also visited the scene of the fires.
The woman was sentenced to three years and ten months in prison for two counts of arson in Åhus. She was otherwise acquitted from the charges. Both the prosecution and the defence appealed the verdict to the Court of Appeal.
