Winter tyres can stay on two weeks longer
This year, your winter tyres can stay on for two weeks longer because of the risk of spreading the coronavirus. This is what the Transportstyrelsen (the Swedish Transport Agency) has decided. Studded tyres are allowed to stay on until April 30th, a two-week extension, the newspaper Däckavisen writes.

In a letter which was sent out on March 24th, Transportstyrelsen states that elderly people and other risk groups should not be put at risk of being infected by other people, for example when visiting a garage for a tyre replacement. It can also be difficult to get help with changing to summer tyres.

The decision is fully in line with the Motorbranschens Riksförbund (the National Association for the Motor Industry). It has previously highlighted concerns that changing tyres could become a major problem given the current situation.
