Sports Gala: Wegner was queen of the gala

Bowler Jenny Wegner, BK Femtionian, was "Sports Profile of the Year" in Northeast Skåne. "Thank you very much. It's a prize I really value,” says the 25-year-old, who became the world champion in 2019.

Sports in Northeast Skåne was celebrated at Södra Kasern on February 1st. It was an evening to remember. A crowded Södra Kasern got to experience both joy, tears as pleasant nostalgia.

A total of twelve prizes were awarded during the evening. Ifö/Bromölla recieved the prize ”Inclusive Association of the Year”. The associations Kristianstad IK, Vittsjö GIK and FK Göingarna each received their prize.

FK Göingarna actually got two trophies. Henrik Larsson was named Sports Manager of the Year while the association also took home the "Jury’s Special Prize".

Yes, FK Göingarna actually got two trophies. Henrik Larsson was named Sports Manager of the Year while the association also took home the "Jury’s Special Prize" for its efforts in arranging the classic Tiomila, especially because they showed it’s possible to perform with the help of collaboration across borders.

Vittsjö GIK was awarded the Sports Association of the Year award, Kristianstad IK's coach duo Mikael Gath and Andreas Lilja were awarded Coach of the Year.

Sydney Karström, Åhus Athletics Club, was named Talent of the Year.

The region's talents also received awards. Athlete Sydney Karström, Åhus Athletics Club, was named Talent of the Year and received 10,000 crowns from Kristianstadsbladet.

Rising Star of the Year was awarded for the tenth consecutive year by a foundation. Viktor Klemmedsson, Christianstad Skyttesällskap (Shooting Society), was named Rising Star of the Year and received 50,000 crowns. My Sandgren, Willand's Ryttarförening (Equestrian Association), and Ottilia Gunnarsson, BS Hässle, received 40,000 and 30,000 crowns, respectively.
