His shop was worst damaged by the explosion on Östra Boulevarden on the night between Thursday and Friday. The window was shattered by the exploding hand grenade.Several other shops on the other side of the street also suffered damage to their windows, for instance glass splinters had penetrated the windows at Hemtex in several places.

Why the explosion occurred is unclear. The police emphasise that they still do not know if the deed was aimed at anyone in particular.

_ I don’t know what can lie behind it, but I’d like to find out. I’ve never received any threats, says Ali Al-Ghadban.

He has had his shop for five years but has never experienced anything similar before.

_Two years ago my neighbour , a shoemaker, had a stone thrown through his window, but no-one was hurt. I think we should have a camera on the street, says Ali Al-Ghabdan.
