Two new schools will be ready before the school start in autumn: Lingenässkolan and Kulltorpskolan. The number of children is increasing. That is why the municipality is building more schools.
The population forecast shows that the number of children in pre-school age (1-5 years) will increase from about 4,900 this year to 5,700 in the next 14 years.
But it’s also because many schools and preschools from the 60s and 70s need to be renovated or demolished.
The vast majority of construction projects are in Kristianstad town. This is because it’s where the number of children will increase the most.
