Robber pointed a gun at staff and said "back up"
It was Friday, the 15th of November, 2019 that the robbers attacked the jewellery shop ”Guldsmed Sandgren” on Hesslegatan in the centre.
The shop had just opened. The robbers then pushed open the door and ran in.
“We see on the cameras that there are two guys running in. I can barely see it on the camera before he’s standing in front of us. Then he has a gun pointed at us and tells us to "back up”, says a victim to the police.
The robbery went fast. The store's surveillance camera captured the robbers at 10.15 am. At 10.17 am they left the shop. Half a minute later, at 10.17.40 am, they were caught on the surveillance camera at Stora Torg as they fled on a bicycle, north on Östra Storgatan. They then turned right onto Tyggårdsgatan.
At 10.16.42 am the police were alerted to the robbery. Three masked perpetrators dressed in dark clothes had been sighted. Witnesses submitted more information to police. Among other things, that three guys cycled around the city centre before the robbery, and that they were already wearing masks.
The evening after the robbery, the police arrested several suspects in an apartment in Österäng. There they found jewellery, a weapon and drugs.
A 20-year-old and a 23-year-old, both from Kristianstad, have been charged with suspicion of carrying out the robbery. The third person is a 22-year-old from Strömsnäsbruk. The suspicions against him are for receiving stolen goods (he handled the stolen jewellery after the robbery until the day after) as well as weapons violations.
No one was physically injured during the robbery.
