RFSL threatened with doll covered in blood

The RFSL association in Kristianstad has been threatened, with homophobic motives. Someone has put a doll covered in blood with a knife in it on the stairs to the association's premises. "It's upsetting", says Louise Arvidsson, Chairwoman of the RFSL.

RFSL (the National Association for Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Queer and Intersex Person's Rights) has a pub night every other weekend for its members. The pub is in its premises on Norra Kanalgatan in Kristianstad.

On Saturday, the pub night was cancelled as a result of a threat. Someone had put a human-sized doll on the stairs. The doll was wrapped in the pride flag, covered in fake blood and had a knife stuck in his chest. There was also a note with a homophobic message stuck to the doll.

– It was upsetting, you get scared, says Louise Arvidsson, Chairwoman of RFSL Kristianstad.

RFSL is a non-profit association. The association's goal is that the same rights, opportunities and responsibilities apply to LGBTQ people as it does for everyone else in society.

RFSL chose to cancel the pub night for safety reasons.

– It felt unsafe. We didn't know if those who did it were still nearby, says Louise Arvidsson.

In 2006, Nazis attacked an RFSL party in Kristianstad. Since then, the association has been left in peace.

The police have filed a report on unlawful threat. They have also seized the doll.
