Ready for restaurant in former church

There have been many twists and turns around the new zoning plan for the property that was previously Näsby church.

Byggnadsnämnden (The Planning Commission) is now saying yes to, among other things, a restaurant in the residence. The problems with traffic in the area are being resolved.

The owner of the former Näsby church wants to run a restaurant. But there have been many twists and turns. Now there is a new proposal to the zoning plan.

The Planning Commission has approved the proposal. The new zoning plan is permitted to have residential and centre purposes. As a result it is also allowed to have a restaurant.

Previously, neighbours and politicians in kommunstyrelsens arbetsutkott (the Municipal Executive Committee’s Working Committee) have criticised the proposal with a restaurant. The reason has been problems with the traffic outside.

C4 Teknik (C4 Technology) will now improve traffic safety when the intersection by Näsbychausseén/Tegelbruksvägen is rebuilt.

A concrete edge will be built along the entire section where there will be no exit towards Näsbychaussén. A concrete edge may also be required towards Tegelbruksvägen. The concrete edge is difficult for cars to drive over.

The Swedish Democrats do not think a restaurant should be allowed in the former church. SD expressed their reservations against the decision of the Planning Commission.

It is the Municipal Council that will make the final decision on whether there may be a restaurant or not.
