Prison and Probation Service wants to attract more to apply for jobs
The Prison and Probation Service is out with a trailer on a round trip in Sweden to talk about the Prison and Probation Services and try to get more people to apply for jobs there. In Kristianstad, there are currently eight vacancies for prison officers.
Ludvig Ceimertz is a Correctional Officer at the correctional facility in Kristianstad. He says that those who work there have different backgrounds. There are teachers, students, military personnel and people from various care professions.
– We want to reflect society at large, says Ludvig Ceimertz.
– Requirements for working within the Prison and Probation Service in a correctional facility and a prison are: approved upper secondary school certificate, driving license. Some work within the Prison and Probation Service also requires Swedish citizenship, says Ludvig Ceimertz.
According to the Prison and Probation Service's website, there are over 70 different professions within the Prison and Probation Service. All employees work towards the same goal - that people can change and to reduce the risk of re-offending.
