Police cordon off central Hässleholm - suspected attempted murder

– A report has been filed for attempted murder. It is early in the investigation. At present, we’re not explaining why it has been classified at that, says Emil Johnsson, Internal Officer at the police in Kristianstad.

It was just after 10.30 am that the police were alerted about an unknown object next to a car on Verkstadsgatan in central Hässleholm

– The person saw the object by his car and thought it looked suspicious, it didn’t feel right. The patrol that arrived at the scene was also unable to judge whether the object was safe or not, says Kim Hild, Press Officer for the police.

A larger area was cordoned off. Police bomb disposal group was called to the scene. Emergency services and ambulance were also called to the scene

At around 4 pm the bomb disposal group were finished with their work.

The suspicious objected will be further investigated by the police.

According to information provided to Aftonbladet, it could be a live bomb which could be detonated remotely with a mobile phone. But the police do not want to confirm or deny the information.

Nobody has been arrested yet.
