No refugees to be placed in Östra Göinge 2020

Next year, Hässleholm, Osby and Östra Göinge municipalities will not take in anybody from Migrationsverket’s (the Swedish Migration Agency) housing, that is refugees who move out when they get their residence permit.

Länsstyrelsen (the County Administrative Board) has put forward a proposal on how places in the municipalities should be allocated. Everyone who lives in an accommodation centre (ABO) and gets a residence permit will be placed in a municipality.

The number of asylum seekers a municipality has taken in will be taken into account when the places are allocated. The number of new arrivals who have chosen to live in the municipality (EBO also plays a factor.

It’s uncertain how many choose to move to different municipalities themselves.

Family reunification is also uncertain.

The County Administrative Board's forecast is a total of 150 people for 2020 in Skåne.

For north-eastern Skåne (Kristianstad, Hässleholm, Östra Göinge, Bromölla and Osby) it’s about 11 people. But more people move in by themselves. Therefore, there will be a total of 544 people.
