The swimming pool in Gamlegården opened again on July 8th after being renovated. It’s a big investment in order to improve the residential area. Next to the swimming pool is a new activity playground that will be opened in August.

Before the official opening, ABK was threatened that the swimming pool would be vandalised. During the first week, among other things, the solar cells were destroyed and they cut a hole in the fence, says ABK who hopes to get help from residents who may know who did it.

Vandalism can lead to serious accidents with glass on the ground and in the water. Holes in the fence can lead to children getting in and risk drowning.

It’s unfortunate when it starts like this, says Karl - Henrik Persson, Building and Purchasing Manager at ABK.

There is also another problem; people playing in the activity playground opposite the swimming pool at night. It disturbs the neighbours of course.

- We do what we can, if we can’t deal with it, we’ll have to do something we don’t want to, he says.
