This Monday the 13th of May, the new roundabout at Långebro will open. The work has been ongoing since last autumn, and during the last three weeks the traffic has been completely blocked off.

Traffic will be able to pass through on Monday morning. Then the official opening ceremony will take place at 10 am. Then the roundabout artwork "Väktare" (Guard) will be presented by the artist Pål Svensson. Next, the walking and cycling routes will be asphalted. They should be ready by the end of May.

The municipality's goal from the beginning was that the new roundabout would open at the end of June, which means that the work is six weeks ahead of schedule.

The construction has cost 16 million crowns. If you include all the work surrounding the project such as water works, the total cost is 22 million crowns.

- It is one of the most anticipated infrastructure projects in Kristianstad, said Henrik Wester, Communications Officers C4 Teknik, previously to Kristianstadsbladet.
