New proposal for swimming-baths at Näsby
There has been a lot of chopping and changing of plans for the new baths at Näsby. The political debate has been infected. During the autumn the municipality has backed* the process. Before Christmas a new plan was presented by the people responsible for the project, that is, representatives from the municipality and from Sikab (the municipally-owned firm which is to build the baths).
The new proposal is based on a decision made by members of the municipal council in 2015. It was decided then to build new baths at a cost of 340 million crowns. By the end of 2017 the cost had risen to approximately 500 million.
The latest proposal is for baths measuring 13 750 square metres at a cost of 487 million crowns, this time without a gym.
Annual running costs are estimated at 23,1 millon per year. Previously running costs were reckoned at 19,5 million.
Now politicians must come to a decision on the new proposal, in April in the municipal executive board and in May in the municipal council.
The new baths are planned to be ready for use at the beginning of 2022.
At the end of the year 2021/2022, the plan is that the bathhouse will be ready.
