The meeting place is at Balders väg 6 every Monday, in the Hyresgästföreningens (The Swedish Union of Tenants) premises. In the morning there is a study circle.

”We’re focusing on a study circle for women. It seems to be the best way to also spread knowledge further to men and children. If there is a lot of interest, we can start a circle in Broby too”, says Carl-Johan Dahlgren, Chairman of the Hyresgästföreningen in Östra Göinge.

Asmaa Al-hourani came to Sweden three years ago, from Syria. "The purpose of the study circle is to provide women with support in several ways, so they do not feel alone in their new country," she says.

The study circle is called "Living and residing in Sweden". Asmaa Al-hourani from Knislinge leads it.

– We turn to women, both new arrivals and asylum seekers who are waiting to start SFI, she says.

A language cafe is also available.

– The goal is to give the participants information in easy Swedish about how it is to live, reside and work in Sweden. In order to strengthen the language and address which social codes and values there are in society.

Every Monday afternoon the meeting place is open to everyone. Then, men, women and children are welcome.

Rita Akusu from Nigeria has just got a residence permit. She had wished there had been a study circle when she came nine months ago.
