New bridge over Härlövsängaleden - Linnérundan will have better road safety
On Tuesday night Härlövsängaleden was closed off, the road that runs between Långebro and Näsby. It took five hours to lift the bridge into place.
The bridge was lifted into place with a crane that had a counterweight of 80 tonnes to cope with the lift. In total, the crane, with the bridge and counterweight, weighed about 200 tons.
There is a lot of traffic on Härlövsängaleden, 11 000 vehicles per day.
It was a citizen who submitted a citizens' initiative to the municipality about a crossing point. This in order to increase traffic safety for everyone who wants to take a walk in nature at Linnérundan.
The Technical Committee thought it would be better with a bridge. The bridge will be completely finished in April, after Easter. The opening ceremony for the bridge will be held on the 22nd of May.
