Netto leaves Sweden - Coop buys stores
Coop has bought all 163 Netto stores in Sweden. Most of the stores are located in the south of Sweden - and most of them will remain.

The Danish discount chain Netto has been in Sweden since the early 2000s. But it has never been a success. Now Netto is leaving Sweden.
Coop has also had problems with profitability, but since 2015, the loss has turned to profit.
– We need to strengthen ourselves to match the main competitor, says Christian Wijkström, CEO of Coop Sweden.
Coop is now strengthening its position as second in the food market, after Ica.
Netto has more than 2 000 employees.
