Man stabbed ex-wife to death - sentenced to life imprisonment
It was in the beginning of February this year that the police were called out to an apartment in central Hässleholm. There they found a wounded woman. She was taken to hospital where she died later that day.
The man killed his wife through excessive force and a great number of stab wounds. This is what Hässleholm's District Court who has sentenced him for murder, has written.
The man and the woman had been married and have children together. They were divorced, but still lived together.
The man has also been sentenced for the attempted murder of his daughter, who tried to protect her mother.
– I thought he was going to kill me too, because I saw everything, said the daughter said during questioning.
An assessment shows that the man did not have any mental health issues when he murdered his ex-wife.
The man has also been sentenced for threatening behaviour towards a neighbour who wanted to report the incident.
The convicted man had used excessive force and stabbed his ex-wife many times.
Hässleholm’s District Court has not found mitigating circumstances. The man has been sentenced for deliberately killing the woman, that is, for murdering her, to life imprisonment.
