Lower lever of education in Kristianstad

Kristianstad is under the national average as regards the proportion of people with higer education.

The proportion of people with a university or college education of least three years is increasing. Last year almost a quarter of the people aged between 21 and 74 were in this categroy.

But in Kristianstad the proportion is below the national average. 20 percent of the inhabitants in Kristianstads have higher education, as compared to 23 per in the country as whole.

The highest proportion of people with a higher education in Skåne, 40 -41 percent, is in Lund and Lomma according to statistics from Statistiska Centralbyråen SCB, the national statistics office.

Östra Göinge is among the municipalities with the lowest proportion of people with higher eduction in the whole country.

Twelve percent of the inhabitants in Östra Göinge have a university or college education of at least three years.

– Young people from outside the towns must move away to centres of higher education, and the ones who stay on have a lower level of education, says Sinisa Sauli, from SCB, to the news agency Siren.

In Bromölla 13 per of the inhabitants have higher education and in Hässleholm the corresponding figure is 17 percent.
