Kristianstadsbladet has been nominated for Newspaper of the Year
Over a hundred newspapers were nominated.
– It's a darn nice justification, says Jörgen Svensson, Editor-in-chief of Kristianstadsbladet.
The panel wrote:
“Kristianstadsbladet has, despite the industry's challenges, managed to maintain a strong local presence and embraces all of its readers, moreover, in several languages other than Swedish. With knowledge and sense of the local issues, they keep national competition outside the door, increasing among younger readers and have the budget under control. It is making an important democratic effort every day. "
The annual award is presented by the industry organisation TU - Media in Sweden (Medier i Sverige).
– There’s no denying that this here is the most prestigious award in the industry. So we feel very honoured, says Jörgen Svensson.
This year's winner will be announced at TU's gala on April 22nd in Stockholm.
