Here’s where you can celebrate Midsummer

You can start by dressing the Midsummer pole in order to dance ring games later on. There will be music and wonderful company. Here are some tips on where you can celebrate Midsummer on Midsummer Eve in Kristianstad, Hässleholm and Östra Göinge.

Ivö:

The sports ground in Ivö from 1.30 pm to 4 pm. The Midsummer pole will be dressed together, after that dancing around the Midsummer pole. Quizzes for the big and the small, bingo, opportunity to ride a horse and cart, chocolate wheels, goody bags for the kids and much more. You can buy grilled sausages and home backed coffee at the kiosk.

Tivoli Park:

Kristianstad’s Hembygdsgille (Folklore Society) is organising the celebration. The party starts at 3 pm with dancing, music and ring games.

Åhus:

Kristianstad’s Brass Band will be playing when it’s time to dance around the Midsummer pole on the square in Åhus. Coffee service is available. Start at 1.30 pm.

Hässleholm

Hovdala Castle:

Kultur Hässleholm in collaboration with Hovdala Vänner invites you to a traditional Midsummer celebration on the outer courtyard. Visitors can join in and dress the Midsummer pole, sing and dance. The castle shop and Fröknarna's café are open between 11 am and 5 pm. Free entry.

Hembygdsparken:

Västra Göinge Hembygdsförening (Local History Society) will be celebrating traditionally in Hembygdsparken in Hässleholm. At 11 am everyone who wants to participate can start dressing the Midsummer pole with green leaves; at 12 pm the pole will be dressed with flowers. Visitors are welcome to bring their own flowers. At 1 pm, the Midsummer pole will be raised and there will be dancing.

Bjärnum:

Bjärnum’s Museum is organising celebrations at Bjärnum's Museum from 2 pm. There will be dancing around the Midsummer pole, music by Fredrik Andersson and Rolf Ek. Visitors of all ages - and dogs - are welcome.

Östra Göinge

Broby:

Göinge Hembygdsförening invites you to celebrate in Broby Hembygdspark. The festivity starts at 10 am with the dressing of the Midsummer pole.

Tydingesjön:

At 11 am we dress the Midsummer pole, the Folkdansgillet will perform 1 pm, at 2 pm there will be dancing around the Midsummer pole. Please bring your own instruments and join in with us. Games and surprises for the kids. Dining and kiosk open until 5 pm.
