Helge å floods over into Knislinge

There is a lot of water in Helge å (Helge River). This has led to flooding near Folket’s Park where the Helgeå festival is usually held. And there will be more rain this weekend.

There is a Class-2 warning for a high flow rate in Helge å. Therefore, the land near the Folket’s Park flooded.

Every summer, the Helgeå festival is usually held here.

– It looks pretty much like when we organised the festival in 2017 when we had the world’s downpour, says Andreas Martinsson, festival director.

He says that the area is well-drained. As the water level drops in the river, the water on the ground will also drain away. So far, there is no danger to Folket’s Park.

– At least not what can be seen with the naked eye.

SMHI writes in its forecast that there will be up to 10 millimetres of rain this weekend.
