Handball: Jaballah leaves IFK – will play in Qatar
Jihed Jaballah leaves IFK Kristianstad with immediate effect. It was a quick deal this weekend - the Tunisian player is being loaned to Al Ahli in Qatar. And next season he will play for Tatran Presov in Slovakia.
– That's right. We have made an agreement with his agent to break the contract, says Jesper Larsson, Sports Manager for IFK Kristianstad.
On Tuesday, it emerged that Jihed Jaballah will be loaned out to Al Ahli in Qatar for the rest of the season. Now there will be new offers. Next season, the 30-year-old will be ready for Tatran Presov in Slovakia.
– It happened really fast. His agent got in touch about the interest from Tatran Presov. Then we made an agreement to break the contract, says Jesper Larsson.
IFK gets paid for loaning out the 30-year-old to Qatar.
– It’s a loan that is favourable for both parties, says Jesper Larsson.
Jihed Jaballah was recruited to IFK this summer as a routine substitute for the Icelander Arnar Arnarsson. But it never really took off for the 30-year-old Tunisian national team player.
Due to trouble with his visa he came to Kristianstad late last summer. Jaballah only got to play a few times during his time at IFK.
Jaballah did well during the African Championships where he was named the best pivot player in the tournament. This made a quick transition to the club Al Ahli in Qatar possible.
– It certainly played a part, says Jesper Larsson.
