Fritzon takes a piece of Skane with her to the EU
Heléne Fritzon lives in Degeberga. She tops the Social Democrats' list in the EU election. On March 28th she was invited by the Arbetarekommunen (the Workers municipality, a group of S-associations in the municipality).
She visited the confectionery company Hultén to learn more about their collaboration with Samhall. At Urbana community centre she met women who were part of the House of Beatrice project.
- I think that my assignment in the EU is the same as my assignment as Municipal Commissioner. It is important that I have an understanding of citizen’s everyday life in my work, says Heléne Fritzon.
- We have 16 different languages here at Urbana. There are many lovely meetings and discussions, says Linda Edvardsson, Integration Coordinator in the municipality.
Many women seek help with their homework; they want to learn to cycle and learn to swim.
Iman Asanji talked about House of Beatrice's new project with food in Krinova's large kitchen. Anyone can order food and pick it up on Fridays. The food has already received a lot of praise.
At Hultén, Heléne Fritzon got to see how Samhall's staff packed Easter eggs. She was told how job training has boosted both the confectionary company and individual employees.
For Katarina Honoré from LO-Skåne (the Swedish Trade Union Confederation) and the Arbetarekommunen, the purpose of the visit was clear:
- The Swedish model is good. The Swedish collective agreement is important. We hope that Heléne Fritzon will take this with her to Europe, she says.
There will be a longer news report with Heléne Fritzon in KB Mosaik later in spring.
