Late on Wednesday evening, a loud bang was heard in Österäng in Kristianstad.
Four cars were damaged in a car park according to police. The police have stated that something exploded. But there is no information on whether anyone was injured. The National Bomb Squad was at the scene last night. The area is now secure. A man has been detained in suspicion of the act.
At 11.22 pm, SOS Alarm was alerted about an explosion and that there was a car on fire on Hjalmar Söderberg's road.
– At the scene, a car was found with damage from something exploding inside or near the car. Other vehicles in the vicinity were also damaged, says Patric Fors, Spokesperson for the police in Region Syd at midnight.
Four cars have been damaged. It wasn’t a car fire according to the emergency services.
The police cordoned off the scene. The National Bomb Squad was sent there. Once the area was secured, a forensic examination would be carried out.
– There are no reports of anyone being injured, says Patric Fors.
The event is currently classified as destruction causing public endangerment.
None of ABK's buildings were damaged says Jonas Rosenberg, Head of Communications.
– The explosion occurred in an open car park. We will have staff at the scene during the day to clean up, he says.
