Escalators and elevator to be renovated at the central station

The escalators are old and worn out. They have been replaced slowly. Now it's time for the escalators and the elevator inside the station building. The work means that it will be more difficult to access for everyone who uses the bridge.

The renovations will be ongoing during week 33 to 36. During that time, people who need to use the lift must use the lift at Norra Station. There you have to take a detour via the tunnel under the tracks. Signs will be put up by Jernhusen and Trafikverket (the Swedish Transport Administration).

When the elevator is complete, the escalators will be changed at the station. This will take place during week 37-47.

The escalators from track 7 and 8, between the platform and footbridge, will also be replaced. This work will be carried out in stages between weeks 35 and 51.

Jernhusen and Trafikverket will increase their presence at the station and strengthen the on-call support for elevators and escalators that are in use during the work.
