Corona: New cases – infection clinic in Kristianstad involved
All of the infected are being treated in their homes. It reduces the spread of the infection. None of them are seriously ill.
Region Skåne states that the infection clinics in Malmö, Lund, Helsingborg and Kristianstad are involved in the cases. However, Region Skåne will not disclose where those who are infected live.
Why won’t you disclose where those who are infected live?
– I understand that people want to know, but its the policy of the healthcare service to protect patient privacy above all. There is no reason to change our view on this, says Maria Wogensen, Press Secretary at Region Skåne.
To date, nine cases of the coronavirus which causes covid-19 have been found in Region Skåne. 470 samples have been analysed.
On Tuesday, Skåne got its first case of infection, a 25-year-old man in Lund. On Wednesday the second case was announced, a 45-year-old woman who is being treated in Malmö.
Region Skåne has written that if you have symptoms of the disease (symptoms of the respiratory tract, fever and cough) and have been in an area of risk or have been near someone with a covid 19 infection, stay at home and call their health centre or telephone number 1177. You need to make an appointment to take a test.
Most of those infected do not become seriously ill.
To reduce the risk of infection, you have to be careful about hygiene: rinsing vegetables and fruits is enough to get rid of the virus. Wash your hands thoroughly with soap and water. Hand disinfectant is also good.
